Our Inner Mirror

Have you ever noticed that a group of people can all witness the same scenario and each will have a differentfile000906102076 essence to what occurred, bring a different viewpoint on the hows and whys things occurred as they did and why people reacted the way they did? Have you ever wondered why you react differently or certain emotions are triggered in you that are not in another under the same situation? We all have our unique personal experience and outlook that we bring to our observances. We all have a mirror within in us that reflects an essence of our experience, our healings and our wounds. It reflects where we have come from and where we are moving to. It mirrors our inner beliefs and feelings.

What this means then is the outcome of many of our life situations are built upon these reflections. Our perception resides within this view that we bring to our day. Have you ever noticed that if you are having a fabulous day, surrounded by optimistic people, hitting every green light of the day and the sun is shining…that even if you experience a negative situation or person…you seem to have the ability to roll with it much more smoothly and with grace and ease. Our inner mirror is reflecting the positivity we have accumulated throughout the day.

So that means the viewpoint we have on life’s circumstances is often reliant upon what we choose to see and what attachment we bring to the mirror. That is why being in the moment brings us so much freedom. If we let go of the baggage that old wounds have, the negative hold that angers has upon us and the abrasiveness that ill feelings bring to our heart we may be able to shift our personal perspective on life and its unfoldings.

file000156796071Paying attention to your inner mirror and keeping it focused on the positive in life can help with our outer reflections. Not allowing our baggage to weigh us down with negativity keeps us balanced. Our soul brings to life many of the images in our mirror. Tending to our soul’s needs keeps our mirror smudge free and clear. The light it reflects back to our day becomes brighter and our focus is clearer. We can then see things the way they truly are, unattached to the emotions and stories we attach to them. We are able to be present, alive, open and free.

Onward!

file2121259633735Oh how good it feels to be back in the groove! Between the holidays and all the festivities, visiting family and friends and a major head cold to boot…well, let’s just say I slacked on maintaining the measures I take to keep my body tuned up and revving. Granted the head cold made exercise move quite low on the list of things I could do. BUT the extra treats and odd schedules and parties and so on and so on…you get the picture. So back on track I am and my body is celebrating! The head cold, though still a sniffle here and there, is backing off. I am back to exercising an hour a day and it feels WONDERFUL. Lacing up my sneakers puts a smile on my face. Working out with my husband does my heart good knowing we are taking good care of ourselves for now and for the future. Preparing our favorite organic vegan dishes once again, my body is satisfied, full and responding with zeal!

Why is it so easy to get drawn away from such a bliss filled place for my body! It doesn’t help that nearly every month of the year has some major celebration in it, then add on birthdays, anniversaries, weddings….ahhhhhh! And the fact that many celebrate with food, and it usually is not a micro green salad with vegan Caesar dressings and tamari sunflower seeds! It is a challenge.

I am committed though. I won’t beat myself up. I won’t look at it as a set back, just a pause. I will begin file0001748142009fresh each and every moment! And that is all I need to remind myself of. We need to remember that every moment begins NEW and that is where we need to place our focus. We don’t need to wait until tomorrow or Monday or the first of next month…why should we, when we have right now!

The Truth of Happiness

“There is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really file0001190356464(1)want something, it's because that desire originated in the soul of the universe.... The soul of the world is nourished by people's happiness.”
- Paulo Coelho

Reading this quote above makes my heart smile! The soul of the world is nourished by people’s happiness! Imagine that! That awakens within me the desire to be a part of someone’s happiness. It makes me wish to move gently and with the flow, to observe and respond with love, to celebrate and recognize and to encourage and support. When I am in service in this way, my soul resonates as well and I am nourished and I begin to see the possibilities before me of what I am longing for, striving for and working towards. It is an amazing equation of grace and simplicity.

Yet we often forget it or lose sight of it, at least. We become bogged down by life’s complications. We become diverted by unnecessary needs. We become weakened by our fears or our negative beliefs. And we begin to stumble, lose momentum, and our positive life force wanes.

I am creating ways, this year, to pay attention and remain focused on what serves me and my goals and dreams. And since they revolve around being in service to others through Spirit, the path is light and filled with love, my steps are better grounded when taken with grace, and my heart is filled with compassion and strength as I reach out to do my work.

stairsThis year, I choose to live in my truth, in the truth of this planet and of the universe. I choose to believe good things are meant for me and that I am to do good as well. I choose to be open to the possibilities that have not even shown up on my own personal radar yet. I choose to live the life designed for me and to get out of my own way, to pull the brakes on the negative thinking or beliefs, to be brave enough to wear my personal power, to be humble enough to continue learning and growing and to be rich enough to give whenever and wherever I can. What a blessed year this shall be!

Possibilities and Dreams

I begin the New Year thinking ahead to what this year could hold. So many possibilities! A favorite quote byfile9051261658656 Robert Moss excites me on this day, "The futures we dream are often possible futures. They don't necessarily have to play out. They are fit within an order of probabilities which we can change according to our willingness to work with dream information and take appropriate action." Imagine the possibilities. To begin this year not letting doubts and fears box me in! To begin this year expanding upon the ripples of energy. To begin this year with appropriate action that is in alignment with where Spirit is guiding me. To begin this year finding the messages and tools within my dreams and bringing them to the day with intention and insight. Imagine the possibilities!

We all have the potential to be the creators of our future. We should not sit beside the road waiting for the next person to stroll by and tag along. We have the power and the gifts within to launch ourselves far into these beautiful possibilities! So what happens? What stops us? Mostly, our selves, I think. We worry that struggle will hurt or that if we make a mistake we have failed somehow. But if we can accept that all of that struggle, every mistake or failure is part of the BIG picture of our possible future and is necessary to its creation…we need to take that leap of faith.

rainbow(1)This will not be a year of holding back. Nor will it be a year of blaming others or other situations for what is “not going right” in my life. I release that thought pattern and that negative energy. This year will be filled with the manifestation of dreams, the exploration of possibilities and the embracing of my potential. I will lean into the wind, not turn my back. I will leap off the branch, not cling with my last grip. I will dream big and not be small. I am excited to BE this year. There is much to do, to be in service of, to offer, to share, to receive, to love and to wonder! Join me!
