Life Will Never Be The Same

file7871262953258I am an avid reader and often re-read books because I find that as I move through my path, my soul picks up nuances, messages and lessons that I missed in previous reads…perhaps they were not pertinent at the time or I was simply not ready for them yet. This happened quite recently while I re-read Robert Moss’s book Dreamways of the Iroquois. A particular quote jumped out at me. "To live strong, we need a vital and working connection with the animal guardians. This should be an energy connection, not simply a matter of personal symbolism. We need to be able to borrow the senses and skills of the animal powers in order to track, establish psychic boundaries, and heal. One of the fastest ways I know to restore vitality, to improve the immune system, and to move beyond lethargy or depression is to bring through the animal spirits." How true this has become for me. In my shamanic practice I have developed very strong relationships with my animal guides. They have taught me much. I regularly reflect on the lessons that they have brought into my life. I appreciate the ways in which they inspire, encourage and educate me as I travel through this lifetime. Messages come through the realms and feed my soul. Reminders are often made of how I could shift my perspective, embrace this reality and take a different course of action. Possibilities are explored in their company and revelations are many.

I feel their presence as I move throughout my day and sometimes get a glimpse of their essence as I weighfile000502030180 decisions and ponder moments that have created pause. There was a time when I only encountered their presence while in sacred space and specific intent, but now they are so much a part of me that I often find myself reflecting on our last time together, the last message relayed, the most recent exchange or journey, much as I do with my interactions with family and friends. Life has become fuller for them. I have become so much more multidimensional in all ways of body, mind and spirit because of them. A walk in the woods now is a magical meandering with abundance of experiences. Relationships are deeper than ever before. Understanding of who, what and why have a distinction I never imagined. Answers hold many layers now. Possibilities have become endless and as Moss states above, restoration of vitality comes from them daily.

The shamanic relationship with their guides is almost inexplicable as it goes to a level that most humans dare not go or rarely have the opportunity to. But if you are fortunate enough to have crossed the bridge to the realm of your guides…life will never be the same.

Our Path

There is a beautiful gift waiting for us each day in the cupped hands of the Universe. We are given time andfile8151236419134 time again to get back on the path when we falter, lose our way or veer off. It comes sometimes in a gentle reminder in a friends words, in the kindness of a stranger or in an opportunity to give to someone. There are many paths in life, some more challenging than others. Yet we are given choices along the way to be part of the creative energies that we bring to our path. And the path can be shared at times with others; being each others teachers and mirrors.

Regardless of the lesson we are in the midst of learning, the path will wait for our soul to arrive. We come as ready as we can be and then through the various twists and turns we find our way. For some, they feel there is an end to the path, as though our personal journey is a race. But a race against what or whom? Comparison of our path to another’s is pointless as we are all uniquely blessed with our individual gifts and attributes. To think that speed has any role on one’s journey is ridiculous as life’s possibilities are timeless and the cyclical nature of the unfolding of our journey allows us many opportunities to understand and experience again and again.

Steps__Halton_Castle__Runcorn__Cheshire_1984Even of those times we have completely fallen off our path, it remains there waiting for our return, in whatever condition we return in. It is a constant that we can rely on. Knowing that relieves us of the unnecessary pressure we place on ourselves to be perfect, to be right, to be the best, to be the most…all we need to do is BE. Being present, showing up and bringing some intention takes us quite far on our path. Releasing the pressures of all the should's, have to's and must's, clears our path for joy and pleasure, for peace and grace.

Wasting Time

file000475651684I really have an issue with wasted time. I don’t mean to sound bitchy, but I really do. There is so much I long to do in this world, so many places to go, people to see, acts of service, lessons, gifts, possibilities…and I don’t want to stop! Nor do I want to waste the precious time we are given in each lifetime with pettiness. Life gives us opportunities to make good use of this lifetime, and for me, every day counts! Living authentically awakens your soul and shows you how to be present in the moment. To explore it fully. To squeeze the last drop of its juicy-ness out and enjoy it thoroughly! We all have those days where we end it curled up in bed asking ourselves what did we actually carry out or do in that day. I want each day to be filled with intention. That does not mean I have to be working furiously and on the go continuously either. If it is a day of pause, that is important and can be intention filled as well! I just don’t want the day to be mindless and without any consideration of how it is best serving me on my path.

We are all gifted with the chance to share our calling or gifts. Part of that sharing means learning from our path. Taking the time to refocus, to find our purpose, to learn from our missteps or mistakes is all part of that process. Living fully and with awareness brings great intention to everything we do and say. I love that!

Finding our sacred purpose in life and owning every minute of it brings our soul to the day and we grow and file0001959782973shine brighter than ever. If we begin each day this way, we learn to ignore the things that are so distracting and worthless to our growth and forward movement. We don’t need to play with that negative energy or with that draining force. Instead we turn our attention back to the empowering opportunities that will feed us with the life force we need to live the life we have been gifted with in a healthy way for our body, our mind and our spirit.

Growing the Soul

file0001330232053(1)"It's not just about keeping soul in the body. It's about growing soul, becoming more than we ever were, embodying more of the Greater, or Higher, Self. It requires the willingness to take the creator's leap and bring something new into our world. A myth we requicken brings us creative juice and serves soul. Dreaming, we find the myths we can live by, the stories that put soul at the helm of the ship in our odysseys." – Robert Moss, "Dreaming the Soul Back Home". Reading these powerful words of Robert Moss I feel my soul quicken. I love the idea of growing the soul. As a shaman I work with many who are tenderly holding their souls in need of healing. I work with those who have experienced soul loss and long to be whole and full once again. I work with those who have had trauma in their lives and have never fully recovered. Once the souls needs are tended to it awakens with a desire to be alive, full, vibrant and shining. You can see it in the twinkle of the eye, you hear it in the power of the voice, you feel it in the essence of the person, the spirit radiates with a presence and the soul reaches out and touches all that it meets with grace, compassion, beauty and verve.

Growing one’s soul is no task to take lightly. It takes commitment and focus on the moment. It means not wallowing in story or excuses. It means showing up and being present. Growing the soul takes creative energies to meet the soul’s needs. Growing the soul calls us to take notice to our dreams, to our conversations, and to our actions. Just like an athlete preparing for an event we honor what we feed our soul as every bit of nourishment counts.

The adventure of this lifetime awaits and the healed and whole soul is ready to answer the call. Is it yourfile0001562769152 call to be of service? Is it your call to lead? Perhaps your soul is ready to create and share. The possibilities and potential of one’s soul is endless. The myth of our soul is grand! We can be richer, fuller and brighter than we dare to imagine! And our soul will not disappoint!
